Class 2 – Card 1

Hi all,

I can’t believe this last month has gone so quickly, here is the first card from my second card-making class at CraftyAs.

Inks:  Onyx Black Versafine, Memento New Sprout
Cardstock:  White, Pale green
Stamps: Flourishes Bloomin’ Aussie Florals and Kids Play
Spellbinders: A2 Curved Matting Basics A, A2 Curved Matting Basics B, Fancy Framed Tags One, Standard Circles LG, Standard Circles SM
Other: Double sided tape, Dimensionals, Lyra Crayons, Aquabrush, Dauber

First, I stamped the Sturt Desert Rose image with Onyx Black Versafine ink.  Then, using crayons and an aquabrush, I coloured in the image.  When watercolouring with crayons, I use the aquabrush to “pick up” the colour from the end of the crayon.

I cut out the image with a die from Standard Circles SM, and using the die as a mask, sponged with Memento New Sprout.  I then layered the image on a green mat, cut from the next size die  from Standard Circles LG.

Using A2 Curved Matting Basics A and B, I cut the card base from green cardstock, and a white mat to layer on the card base.  Whilst the white cardstock was still in the dies, I sponged with Memento New Sprout (the sponging doesn’t really show up clearly in the photos).

I stamped the sentiment from Kids Play, and cut it out using the oval from Fancy Framed Tags One, again using the die as a mask when I sponged with Memento New Sprout.  I then cut out the tag from the same set in green cardstock.

I have made some other samples, using the same stamp but with different colours, I will post those later, once I have taken photos of them.
