Merry Christmas 🙂 I hope you had a wonderful Christmas.
I decided to have a go at a double gatefold card. It took several attempts to get it “just right”, here are each of the attempts.
Measurements for all cards are 12 inches x 5 1/2 inches. Each was scored at 2, 4, 8 and 10 inches on the longest side, and I marked the halfway point (2 3/4 inches) on the shortest sides. The diagonal cut was made from the score lines at the 4 and 8 inch marks to the corresponding halfway point on the short side (I hope that makes sense 🙂 ).
I made this card for my nephew, Bobby, using “Rudolph” from the Kaisercraft Mint Twist collection. When I made the diagonal cuts, I didn’t take into account the fact that the paper had words on it…so the words were upside down. Oops. I decided to do the same cuts at the other end, which gave it a slightly different twist to the traditional double gatefold card.
The sentiment inside the card is from Darkroom Door Dear Santa Volume 1, and was stamped in Festive Berries Distress Ink.
This card was made for my brother, Chris, using “Catching Air” from the Basic Grey Nordic Holiday collection. For this card, I flipped the offcuts over, and adhered them to the card with double sided tape, to add more diagonals to the card.
The sentiment inside the card is from Darkroom Door Dear Santa Volume 2, and was stamped in Festive Berries Distress Ink. For the border I used a stamp from Darkroom Door Yuletide Volume 1, and stamped it in Evergreen Bough Distress Ink.
Measurements for the wallet are 5 inches X 8 1/2 inches, and it was scored at 3 1/2, 4 1/4 and 5 inches. The centre card insert joined with double sided tape, and cut using a Spellbinders Classic Squares die. I used the same Catching Air paper to decorate the wallet as was used in the card.
I made this card for Mum, using SU Candlelight Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper. I didn’t use the offcuts on this one, as I did on the previous card, as it made it too red, and I wanted a softer effect for this card.
The ornament stamp is from JustRite Merry and Bright, and was stamped with Bundled Sage Distress Ink. The sentiment is from JustRite Christmas Miracle Ornaments and was stamped with Festive Berries Distress Ink. The ornament was then cut out with Spellbinders 2010 Heirloom Ornaments, and attached to the left side of the card with dimensionals.

Bye for now,
