Gone Dotty

Hi all,

I had originally planned to do something different for the second card for my class at CraftyAs yesterday.  After I had finished the first card, I had lots of punched out circles left over, which I decided to use up.  But what to do with them?  Then I remembered a technique I had used once before, where you stick shapes onto your cardstock, and then emboss it.  This is a quick and simple technique, which is a great way to use up scraps.  Here is the card.

Card2 1Ink:  Memento London Fog
Cardstock:  White, Pink, Lilac, Blue, Green, Yellow
Stamp:
Other: SU 1″  Circle, Oval and Scalloped Oval Punches, Double sided tape, Foam tape, Preserves Cuttlebug Embossing Folder

I adhered the circles onto the white cardstock with double-sided tape, and then embossed it.  This was then mounted onto the cardbase.

Card2 4I stamped the sentiment, and punched with the oval punch, this was then mounted onto a scalloped oval with foam tape and adhered to the card.

Card2 2The finished effect is lovely, as the embossing gives the effect that the stuck on shapes are part of the card, and not layered on. One of the ladies in class said that when she first saw this card, she thought that the colours were paint daubed on, she didn’t realise that it was all cardstock.

Bye for now,

Penny
