1st Card making class

Hi all,

Today I taught my first card making class at CraftyAs.  Thank you Ann-Maree for giving me this opportunity.  Here is the first card.

Darkroom Door Wilderness Volume 2

Inks:  Onyx Black Versafine, Scattered Straw, Mowed Lawn and Salty Ocean Distress Inks
Cardstock:  White, Dark Blue, Black, Beige
Stamps: Darkroom Door Wilderness Volumes 1 and 2
Other: Double sided tape

I stamped the image from Darkroom Door Wilderness Volume 2 with Onyx Black Versafine.  Using the distress inks, I sponged with daubers to colour in the scene.  Once sponged, I cut the image out, and layered it on black then dark blue mats.

I then stamped the sentiment from Darkroom Door Wilderness Volume 1 with Onyx Black Versafine.  Using the distress inks, I sponged with daubers to colour in the background lightly.  Once sponged, I cut the image out, and layered it on black then dark blue mats.

Darkroom Door WildernessOn the both the image and sentiment, I distressed the edge of the blue mat, by picking at the edge with my fingernail.  Those who know me know I don’t usually do this, but this image just cried out for it.

I mounted the image and sentiment on a beige A5 cardbase.

I’ll post the second card later tonight.

Bye for now,

Penny

  1. Very cool! At first, I thought it was a hand colored vintage print. Amazing that you did that with a stamp. How creative!

  2. Thoroughly enjoyed this class Penny, thank you

  3. Penny, at first I thought you had used a photograph, then I read your description. Wow! You are amazing!

    Cheers,
    Kasey
