Happy Birthday

It’s January, so of course I have lots of birthday cards to make.  This card is for my best friend.  Here in Australia, we are in the middle of Summer, so it was only appropriate that I use Flourishes Sweet Days of Summer stamp set.

The Flourishes Timeless Tuesday #204 Challenge is to use a fishtail, pearls and a circle.  I haven’t entered any Flourishes challenges, but I decided to finally take the plunge and enter this card in their challenge.

2013 Geraldine Birthday 1

Inks: Scattered Straw Distress Ink, Onyx  Black Versafine
Cardstock:  White, Dark Blue
Stamps: Flourishes Sweet Days of Summer and Kids Play
Spellbinders: Splendid Circles and Standard Circle Small
Embossing folder: M-Bossabilities Splendid (Side B)
Other: Chalks, Blending Pen, Foam tape, Ranger Baby Blue Liquid Pearls

2013 Geraldine Birthday 3

I stamped the image from the Sweet Days of Summer set, cut and embossed it with Standard Circle Small die, and used the die as a mask to sponge with Scattered Straw Distress Ink.  I coloured the flowers with blue chalk and a blending pen.

I cut and embossed a mat with the largest die in the Splendid Circles die set, using wax paper between the die and the cardstock to make it easier to remove from the die.  I adhered the image to the mat with foam tape.

I embossed the card base with Side B of the Spelndid M-Bossabilities folder, and mounted the mat and image onto the  card base with foam tape.

I stamped the sentiment from Flourishes Kids Play stamp set,  cut the fishtail, sponged with Scattered Straw Distress Ink, and added some Baby Blue Liquid Pearls to adorn the sentiment.  This was then mounted on the card base with foam tape.

Bye for now,
