“Vintage” Birthday

It was my uncle’s birthday this week, so of course I “had” to make a card for him.  I decided to use the Darkroom Door Vintage Automobiles stamp for a couple of reasons, for many years my uncle owned a service station so the cars seemed appropriate, and he constantly claims that my mother is older than him (she’s not – just a little sibling rivalry 🙂  ) so it was more than appropriate to use the “Vintage” sentiment on the card .

Inks:  Stormy Sky Distress Ink
Cardstock:  White Textured and Plain
Stamp: Darkroom Door Damask and Vintage Automobiles
Spellbinders: Labels 17
Other: Dimensionals, Double sided tape, Corner punch

Using the Darkroom Door Damask stamp, I stamped the background onto textured white cardstock.  I then stamped the smaller cars and the “Vintage” sentiment from the Darkroom Door Vintage Automobiles onto another piece of  textured white cardstock.  All edges were sponged with ink for added dimension.  These were then layered onto the card base, and all corners were rounded using a corner punch.

The car and sentiment were stamped onto plain white cardstock, cut out  and embossed with dies from the Labels 17  set.  The dies were then used as masks to sponge.  When finished, they were mounted on the card with dimensionals.

Happy birthday Uncle Tom, I hope you had a great day xxx

Bye for now,

Penny
