Happy Birthday Mum

Time for another birthday card, this time it’s Mum’s birthday.
Mum's Birthday 2012Ink: Shabby Shutters, Pine Needles and Antique Linen Distress Inks
Cardstock:  White, Dark Green
Stamp: Darkroom Door Wildflowers Volume 2, SU Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Spellbinders: Lace Doily Motifs, Lace Doily Accents, Classic Squares Large, Marvellous Squares, Les Papillions
Other:  Spellbinders M-Bossabilities Elegance Embossing Folder, Double sided tape, Foam tape, Dimensionals, Kindy Glitz

Mum's Birthday 2012 Using the second largest die from Marvellous Squares, I cut the square out, and using the die as a mask I sponged Antique Linen Distress Ink.  Whilst the die was still in place, I stamped images from Darkroom Door’s Wildflowers Volume 2 in Shabby Shutters Distress Ink.  I then mounted the image with foam tape onto a dark green square cut with the largest dies from Classic Squares Large dies.

Mum's Birthday 2012 After cutting a bigger square with the largest die from the Lace Doily Motifs dies, I mounted the image onto the doily with double sided tape.

Mum's Birthday 2012Using a die from the Lace Doily Accents set, I cut out a tag, and again used the die as a mask to sponge with Antique Linen Distress Ink.  I then stamped the sentiment from SU Teeny Tiny Sentiments.

Mum's Birthday 2012These were then mounted onto white card base that had been embossed with M-Bossabilities Elegance Embossing Folder.  The sentiment was mounted with dimensionals, and the image with double sided tape.

Mum's Birthday 2012I cut out a butterfly from the Les Papillions die set.  I then spread Kindy Glitz over the butterfly to add sparkle, if you look closely you can just see it 🙂 .  I let the Gllitz dry a little, then added glue to the body of the butterfly to adhere it to the card.  As the Glitz had not dried completely, I was able to shape the wings so that they sat up.

I’ve entered this in the Make it Monday Challenge 116 – Anything Goes.

Happy birthday for Tuesday Mum x

Bye for now,
