Happy birthday my friend

Time for another birthday card.  This one is for my friend, Theresa, who loves butterflies and purple…made the card fairly easy really 🙂

2012 Theresa Birthday

Ink: Aged Mahogany, Victorian Velvet and Milled Lavender Distress Inks
Cardstock:  White, Purple
Stamp: Stampin Up Butterfly Prints and Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Spellbinders: Nestabilities Fancy Framed Tags 1 and Floral Ovals, M-Bossabilities Splendid
Other:  Double sided tape, Dimensional, Purple Rhinestones

2012 Theresa Birthday

I embossed white cardstock with the A side of Spellbinders M-Bossabilities Splendid folder, and then sponged over it with Milled Lavender Distress Ink using a sponge block.  After a little experimenting, I found that the sponge block gave better coverage than using a dauber.

Using SU Butterfly Prints, I stamped butterflies in Aged Mahogany, Victorian Velvet and Milled Lavender Distress Inks.  I then cut it out using Classic Ovals Large and used the die as a mask to sponge.

2012 Theresa BirthdayI cut out a mat using Floral Ovals (my favourite die), and mounted the butterfly oval on it with dimensionals.

2012 Theresa BirthdayI stamped a sentiment from SU Teeny Tiny Sentiments in Milled Lavender Distress Ink, cut it out using the oval from Fancy Framed Tags 1, again using the die as a mask for sponging.  I mounted it with dimensionals on the mat, that I had cut using the matching tag.
