My attempt at a Spirelli Card

At the recent Craft Fair here in Canberra, there was a stand that had Spirelli cards.  I must admit, I had never seen this technique before, for cards…I used to love to do string art when I was young, though, so I wanted to see if I could do this in a card.  For my first attempt, I have cased this card from Cardmaking World.    This was also my first attempt at a “Hole card”.

Inks: SU Pretty in Pink and Basic Black
Cardstock:  White, SU Bashful Blue
Spellbinders: Standard Circle Large and Classic Scalloped Circle Small
Other: Double Sided tape, Blue Flower, Glue, Sticker Sentiment, Rainbow Thread (don’t know if that’s what it’s called or not 😦 )

I started with a scalloped circle I had cut out a few weeks ago, but didn’t end up using.  I I wound the thread at once scallop, then counted forward 8.  The number of spaces you leave will affect the size of the circle that is created.  The more spaces, the bigger the circle.  I then added the flower to the centre, I should have left this till the end as it made it a little harder to assemble.

I cut out a circle from the card, and cut a scalloped frame to hide the ribbon between the card and frame, and put it all together.
